Weekly Review:

Record Store day is upon us. Set your alarms to head over to Vinyl Underground early.  As always, they will have the lowest RSD prices in town. The list of RSD “Firsts” is full of interesting and quality choices. The “Firsts” list indicates these albums will be pressed on vinyl for the first time. Here are a few I think you should check out:
Green Day – Live Woodstock 1994 – its been 25 years since Green Day took the stage at Woodstock 1994 and now you can bring home LP, water down your back yard until it’s a mud pit and crank this to 11.  It’s the first and probably only time you can get a copy so pick one up.
Goo Goo Dolls – Topography – This 5 x LP box set includes the vinyl debut of Let Love in, Gutterflower, Something for the Rest of us along with copies of Dizzy Up the Girl and Magnetic. Let Love In has some really great tracks on it, including “Better Days” and the title track “Let Love In.” Gutterflower is no slouch either, with “Big Machine” and “Here is Gone,” it’s a must for any fan.  1000 total will be released so snag it if you see it.
Gorillaz – The Fall – The fourth studio album by the Gorillaz has been a large hole in their vinyl discography.  This album is more experimental than others, partly due to the fact that it was recorded on the road during the Plastic Beach tour.  If you like the Gorillaz, then you already know it’s a yes.
Office Space Soundtrack – Various Artists – This album makes any day at the office a little more exciting. Geto Boys “Damn It Feels Good To Be A Gangsta” is a classic, but we also get contributions from Scarface, Ice Cube and Kool Keith. Pressed on Swingline Stapler red vinyl.
This short list is the tip of the iceberg.  You will also find releases from Clapton, the Rolling Stones, Peter Gabriel, Flaming Lips, David Bowie, James Brown and the Allman Brothers.  See you bright and early Saturday!
