New Arrivals:

Orville Peck – Stampede (Indie Exclusive, Pink Colored Vinyl)
Orville Peck has long dreamed of making Stampede, a duets album with singers, songwriters, and fellow musicians he’s long admired. And now, music icons, rebels and newcomers join hand-in-hand with Orville on his third full-length body of work to help create a two-part record that tips it’s hat to music’s past, present, and future. Orville just released the first part to this project Stampede: Vol.1 on 5/10 with duets such as Willie Nelson, Midland, Elton John, Allison Russell, Noah Cyrus, Bu Cuaron and Nathaniel Rateliff. Slant Magazine describes Volume 1 as “a reflection of both the singer’s dedication to the genre and his desire not to be confined by it.”

Clipping – Clppng (Nightshade Red Colored Vinyl)
Clipping celebrates the 10th anniversary of their 2014 Sub Pop debut, Clppng, with a new colored-vinyl edition, limited to 1,000 copies.

Lee Morgan – Taru (Blue Note)
Limited 180gm vinyl LP pressing. Lee Morgan’s 1968 album Taru found the trumpeter at a crossroads exploring a variety of styles from modal jazz and post-bop to beautiful balladry and funky boogaloos. The band here is notable for the elevating presence of guitarist George Benson and the addition of tenor saxophonist Bennie Maupin. This stereo Tone Poet Vinyl Edition was produced by Joe Harley, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original analog master tapes.

Mariah Carey – #1’s (Bonus Tracks, Silver & Black Colored Vinyl)
#1’s is a collection of Mariah Carey’s first 13 chart-topping singles. Originally released in 1998, this Greatest Hits album includes the classics “Always Be My Baby,” “Fantasy” and “One Sweet Day,” along with the four bonus tracks included on the original vinyl release. This 2024 edition is pressed on metallic silver & black swirl vinyl.

Quiet Riot – Metal Health
Originally released in 1983, Metal Health was a turning point in the history of metal. Featuring the monster hits “Cum On Feel The Noize” and “Metal Health (Bang Your Head)” and fueled by constant rotation on radio and MTV, the album was the first heavy metal album to top the US charts and went on to sell 10 million copies worldwide.

X – Smoke & Fiction (Indie Exclusive, Blue Colored Vinyl)
Smoke & Fiction is due August 2024 via Fat Possum Records, following the band’s 2020 comeback record, Alphabetland – their first LP in 35 years. They recorded the album with producer Rob Schnapf, and lead single “Big Black X” is a blast from X’s storied past, pulling rockabilly threads into their unvarnished punk rock sensibilities. Being great is one thing, but staying great for a long time is another. X has been great for forty-seven years, building their legend as one of America’s most original punk bands with seven albums between 1980 and 1993. This summer, their final album, Smoke & Fiction, will be released alongside multiple national tours Like Alphabet and (2020), Smoke & Fiction has the fury and fun expected from X. It’s a valedictory lap with tracks like “Big Black X” reflecting back on their journey.

Why? – The Well I Fell Into (Colored Vinyl)
For nearly three decades, WHY? have thrived in subverting expectations. Across seven unpredictable and adventurous studio albums, the band led by Cincinnati songwriter Yoni Wolf has stretched the fringes of psychedelic pop, hip-hop, and electronic music. No matter the genre experiments and thematic departures, their discography is remarkably consistent, anchored by Wolf’s disarming lyrical transparency. His writing is provocative, self-lacerating, and always considered, coming from a place of blunt emotional openness. The Well I Fell Into, the eighth full-length from WHY?, is Wolf at his most cohesive and poignant. An autopsy of heartbreak, the album charts the ups and downs of a devastating breakup while trading bitterness for healing. Self-released on Waterlines, Wolf’s new label that follows in the footsteps of Anticon, the trailblazing artist-run collective he co-founded, it’s 14 tracks stand as the band’s prettiest and most immediate work yet.
