New Arrivals:
Nick Cave & Bad Seeds – Wild God (Clear White Vinyl)
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds return with new album, Wild God. Across the ten tracks of the album, the band dance between convention and experimentation, taking left-turns and detours that heighten the rich imagery and emotion in Cave’s soul-stirring narratives. It is the sound of a group emboldened by reconnection and taking flight. There are moments that touch fondly upon the Bad Seeds’ past but they are fleeting, and serve only to imbue the relentless and restless forward motion of the band. Produced by Cave and Warren Ellis, and mixed by David Fridmann, Cave began writing the album in 2023. With sessions at Miraval in Provence and Soundtree in London, the Bad Seeds added their unique alchemy, with additional performances from Colin Greenwood (bass) and Luis Almau (nylon string guitar, acoustic guitar). “Wild God… there’s no f***ing around with this record. When it hits, it hits. It lifts you. It moves you. I love that about it,” says Nick Cave.
Tycho – Infinite Health (Indie Exclusive, Blue Colored Vinyl)
Grammy-nominated producer Scott Hansen, AKA Tycho, has carved a distinct niche for his hypnotic blend of lush synths, atmospheric soundscapes and intricate melodies. His new album, Infinite Health, was co-produced by Grizzly Bear’s Chris Taylor and frequent tour collaborator Zac Brown with Chris also lending his mixing talents for the album.
Awolnation – Phantom Five
the sixth studio album by American rock band AWOLNATION. AWOLNATION titling the fifth album of original songs in 15 years The Phantom Five is about more than just chronology. The number 5 is associated with independence and individualism, major life changes and experiences, all of which influenced the resulting album. It’s a collection of ten songs that highlights every different impulse and urge Bruno has learned to master with AWOLNATION in a cohesive, anthemic pastiche of modern music. As he himself admits, it functions almost as a “greatest hits” album, in the sense that it offers something for everyone who has followed the band’s arc in it’s celebrated, shape-shifting way. The first single, “Panoramic View,” stands out with it’s sincerity on it’s sleeve; in fact, while not necessarily a new direction for AWOL, the idea of a heartfelt ballad being the first track available to fans is emblematic of Bruno’s newfound control over every aspect of an album release-something that he says might not have happened in previous days.
Boyscott – Goose Bumps (Green & Gold Colored Vinyl, Sticker, Digital Download Card)
On Goose Bumps, Connecticut’s Boyscott present ten upbeat tracks that forge together elements of surf rock and bedroom pop. Weaving these supple sounds of yore into the techniques of today, Boyscott’s distinct bedroom-recorded bops betray the limitations of their modest studio situation with a sonic depth not commonly associated with lo-fi projects.
Bug Club – On the Intricate Inner Workings of the System (Colored Vinyl)
The way you’re saying it, “prolific” isn’t the right word for The Bug Club. You’ve got to say it with the trademark Welsh lilt and pay due homage to this inimitable band’s origins in the renowned hit factory of Caldicot, South Wales. Do that, and you’re about right with how to summarize a group who’ve released ten singles, two albums, two EPs, three things nobody knew how to describe, and an album under a different band’s name, all since 2021, and while playing 200+ gigs a year
Denzel Curry – King of the Mischievous South Vol. 2
Denzel Curry returns with King Of The Mischievous South Vol. 2, embodying his persona “Big Ultra.” A long-awaited album blending sounds from the South’s hip hop heritage, ’90s inspired beats referencing Memphis and luminary groups like Three6Mafia. Featuring artists like A$AP Rocky, 2 Chainz, Ty Dolla $ign, Juicy J and many more, the album reminisces on Curry’s career and reconciles past relationships. Departing from his concept-driven albums, it highlights Curry’s rap prowess and creative spontaneity.
Elliott Smith – Roman Candle (Indie Exclusive, Peach Colored Vinyl)
Limited opaque peach colored vinyl. Elliott Smith’s first solo album, originally released on Portland’s Cavity Search Records in 1994. Roman Candle is now remastered for the re-release by Roger Seibel (SAE) and Larry Crane, editor of Tape Op Magazine and archivist for Elliott’s family.
Laurie Anderson – Amelia
Vinyl LP pressing. Amelia is the 2024 Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award recipient’s first album since 2018’s Grammy-winning Landfall. The record comprises twenty-two tracks about renowned female aviator Amelia Earhart’s tragic last flight. Anderson, who Pitchfork says, “sees the future, but she starts by paying attention,” wrote the music and lyrics for this subjective narrative piece. On the album, she is joined by the Czech orchestra Filharmonie Brno, conducted by Dennis Russell Davies, and Anohni, Gabriel Cabezas, Rob Moose, Ryan Kelly, Martha Mooke, Marc Ribot, Tony Scherr, Nadia Sirota, and Kenny Wolleson. Earhart was a passionate pioneer of early aviation, achieving fame as the first woman to cross the Atlantic, in 1932. Five years later, she embarked on a flight around the world. Before she could complete the voyage, her plane disappeared without a trace; it has never been found. “The words used in Amelia are inspired by her pilot diaries, the telegrams she wrote to her husband, and my idea of what a woman flying around the world might think about,” Anderson says. First premiered at Carnegie Hall in 2000, the updated piece was recently performed across Europe.
Nails – Every Bridge Burning (Forest Green Vinyl)
For this 4th full length album, NAILS have channeled raw emotion into tracks like “Imposing Will”, a seismic event in the realm of sonic aggression; igniting the pulse, and fueling a fire of hostility. “[This track is] special to the record in that I knew we wanted it to be the opener,” explains founder Todd Jones. “We wanted it to have the effect of an urgency; an immediacy in the music itself. When you push play, you get smacked in the face.” Similarly, “Give Me the Painkiller” hints at an intricate groove while simultaneously causing the urge to peel your skin off. There exists a wild energy that according to Jones is the band’s “most expressive guitar playing” in their history. Plunge into “Punishment Map”, and confront the decades of misery brought about by Golden State serial killer Joe D’Angelo-a relentless descent into the abyss of human suffering. The guitar work on EVERY BRIDGE BURNING is an expansive force in it’s own right, epitomized in tracks like, No More Rivers to Cross. Here, NAILS masterfully navigates a spectrum of moods, showcasing fluidity and intensity that is quintessentially NAILS yet profoundly evolved.
Oceanator – Everything Is Love & Death (Transparent Teal Vinyl)
On Oceanator’s third full-length album, Everything is Love and Death, songwriter Elise Okusami showcases her exceptional pop sensibilities, delivering 11 tracks full of melodic depth and lively energy. Produced by Grammy nominated engineer/producer Will Yip (Title Fight, Turnstile, Bartees Strange), the new album features some of the biggest and boldest songs Okusami has ever written, such as the anthemic and sludgy “Drift Away,” featuring backing vocals from NNAMDÏ. Oceanator’s music has been praised in outlets such as Stereogum, Pitchfork, NPR and SPIN, who described Okusami as having “the kind of voice that can silence a room.” The band has shared the stage with the likes of Jeff Rosenstock, Laura Jane Grace, PUP, and others with a notable touring history across North America and Europe.
Sebadoh – Bakesale (Silver-Metallic Vinyl)
Sebadoh’s 1994 album, Bakesale, was the band’s fifth full-length album, arguably their best and certainly their most acclaimed. The album expanded the band’s sound well beyond the lo-fi, mostly acoustic sound of their prior releases, using killer rock tunes and powerful production to create an absolute stunner of an album. This 30th anniversary, limited colored-vinyl edition on silver-metallic vinyl contains the 2011 remaster of the album, which was overseen by Sebadoh’s Lou Barlow and Jason Loewenstein.
Tenacious D – Post-Apocalypto
“Post-Apocalypto’ finds Tenacious D thrust into a world of complete and utter destruction following the drop of an atomic bomb. Surviving the attack in classic cinematic fashion (a good old imperishable 1950s refrigerator), the duo quickly learns that new forms of evil have spawned from the blast. One thing becomes apparent for humanity to prevail, Tenacious D must save the world”.
Tenacious D – Rize of the Fenix
RIZE OF THE FENIX is the third album from Tenacious D and is the follow-up to 2006’s THE PICK OF DESTINY and 2001’s platinum debut album TENACIOUS D. Produced by the brilliant John Kimbrough, RIZE OF THE FENIX was recorded in the garage behind his LA home and features Jack Black and Kyle Gass (Tenacious D’s core duo), performing with Dave Grohl (drums), John Spiker (bass, piano, organ) and John Konesky (electric guitar).
Wunderhorse – Midas
Wunderhorse capture the raw power and energy that has set them apart as one of the most formidable live acts of recent years. With rugged hooks, unfiltered noise, and fierce melodic sensitivity, Midas rips up the script of traditional second albums and establishes the band as an endlessly addictive and rousing generational talent. Black LP, printed inner sleeve

St. George & The Dragons – King of Kansas City
St. George & The Dragons have been doing this rock ‘n’ roll thing for some time. Five legends in the Kansas City music scene got together to make the biggest sounding, rockingest record they could make. And they did it with their debut album KING OF KANSAS CITY! A ten-song album of pure rock and roll influenced by late 70s rock like the Stones and Tom Petty as well as a few modern era artists like Chris Stapleton — ones that never seemed to follow trends or expectations. The theme of KING OF KANSAS CITY comes from a time when Rock ‘n’ Roll ruled the airwaves. It’s about letting go and raising your hand high into the air with your middle finger out to the world as you move on to the next big thing in your life.
