So many popping new releases for July 4th New Vinyl Thursday! Stop into your neighborhood record store today for some new music. We are open until 9 pm.

We are going to start a new feature: Review of the Week. This week Metal Dave reviews the new Kobra & the Lotus album, ” Prevail 1″.

My Pick of the YEAR

Rarely does a release capture my attention and become all-consuming. Well, I take that back…in 2014 I was consumed by 2 releases… “Sun Structures” by The Temples and “Awake” by Tycho. This year (so far) I have been consumed by a heavy metal band called Kobra & The Lotus and their 4th studio album entitled “Prevail 1”.

This album stunned me on first listen – in a good way. Lead vocalist, Kobra Paige, was brought up on a heavy dose of Priest & Maiden, and it shows in her vocal delivery. The band is straight up METAL with positive lyrics, melodic hooks, and bone-crushing riffs. They wrote 21 songs and planned a double LP release. However, their new label, Napalm Records, decided to split ‘em into two separate releases, hence there will be a “Prevail 2” later this year. Stand out tracks are “Gotham”, “Manifest Destiny”, “Victim” and the lead-off single, “You Don’t Know”.
To all my head-bangin’ customers out there – don’t pass this one up! Also, looking forward to the follow up later this year.
***** 5/5 Stars

Last Week’s Pick of the Week’s:

Here’s what we recommended last week. Stop in today to see our recommendations for this week’s new releases. If you are ever looking for musical suggestions, just ask- we love to talk about music.

Speaking of recommendations- our staff can’t recommend the U-Turn Audio Orbit Plus enough. Four out of six of us own one. You can’t beat the quality for the price (and we have the lowest price anywhere). Audiophile quality at an entry level price and for the 4th of July we have Red, White and Blue ones in stock. Pick yours up today- these won’t last long and there is always a delay getting more as they are hand built right here in the USA.

Not in the market for a new turntable? Well, we get in used equipment everyday as well. This beauty rolled in yesterday and we have many others to choose from as well.

What is this, you might ask? These would be our six new racks! What does this mean? It means that we will soon be moving to a much larger space in the store with even more vinyl! Preliminarly move date is July 16th, so please pardon the mess as we get things ready! Big changes are coming! Stay tuned on our Facebook and Instagram for updates about the move and everything else.

We buy records every day. Sometimes we buy so many records that we don’t have any place to put them. What is the answer to this problem? A July 4th New Vinyl Thursday sale! How about, in honor of our Nation’s birth, we do a 40% off ALL used merchandise sale (no limit- buy as many as you want)?! Come help us thin out the bins and make our move on the 16th a little lighter. Get some great music and save a bundle. Sale now through 7/5/17. Make sure to let us know you read it here before checking out as this will be a club members only sale and won’t be advertised elsewhere. Have fun and save some money- don’t blow your fingers off. That is our advice to you for the July 4th holiday. (We will be open on the 4th)

Thanks for reading this week’s blog post- July 4th New Vinyl Thursday. As your neighborhood record store we appreciate your support. Enjoy the muisc and we will see you soon. Your loving Vinyl Underground at 7th Heaven staff,

Sherman, David, Jonathan, Dylan, Dionna and Gordon
