Best Selling Vinyl in Kansas City- Sept & Oct 2015

Want to know what everyone else has been buying at Kansas City’s best record store? Well here’s the list- the top 15 best selling records at The Vinyl Underground at 7th Heaven:

natty dread

#15– Bob Marley and the Wailers- Natty Dread

This album seems to be the favorite of the bunch of early Marley records recently reissued. Stop in and pick up a copy of this one or many other Bob Marley or reggae releases.

#14Craig Finn- Faith in the Future

The new solo album from The Hold Steady front man has been flying off the shelves. His recent show at recordBar probably helped push sales as well. This one is highly recommended by The Vinyl Underground at 7th Heaven staff.

#13– Daft Punk- Tron Legacy OST

Long out of print and highly sought after by collectors, this early Daft Punk recording has been a big seller.

#12– Tame Impala- Lonerism

Surprisingly, Lonerism beat out Currents and Innerspeaker as the top Tame Impala seller these last two months. Maybe after discovering Currents Tame Impala fans are working back through their stellar catalog. We have all three releases in stock now at Kansas City’s best record store- The Vinyl Underground at 7th Heaven.

#11– Tech N9ne- Special Effects

Always a big seller in Kansas City, 7th Heaven’s own, Tech N9ne held down the 11th spot with his red splattered vinyl. We are looking forward to his new release, Collabos- Strangeulation Vol. II, due out this Friday.

#10– Green Day- Dookie

The recently reissued Green Day breakout has become a post punk classic. We have all of the Green Day catalog that is available in stock now.

book of souls

#9– Iron Maiden- The Book of Souls Box Set

The new critically acclaimed album from these British rockers ain’t no slouch among fans either if the speed in which it is still selling at The Vinyl Underground are any indication.

gary clark

#8– Gary Clark, Jr.- The Story of Sonny Boy Slim

Gary Clark Jr.’s blues guitar playing is old and new at the same time and very popular with our customers.

#7– Chet Faker- Built on Glass

The debut full length from Aussie electronica artist Chet Faker has been a steady seller.

#6– Guardians of the Galaxy- Deluxe OST

Talk about a record that keeps going and going and going. It’s got to be the mix tape. Yep, its the mix tape.

#5– Alabama Shakes- Sound & Color

The sophomore release from the Shakes is great and the double clear vinyl is very pretty.

#4– Massive Attack- Mezzanine

This monster release is finally available on vinyl again and Kansas City is remembering how much they love it!

#3– Beirut- No No No

New music from Beirut is always welcome news and No No No (their first release since 2011) is beautiful, soothing, and soaring all at the same time. As an independent record store we stock the indie only, limited edition, blue vinyl version. Highly recommended by the staff of Kansas City’s best record store.

#2– Wilco- Star Wars

The long awaited vinyl release of Wilco’s surprise album Star Wars was worth it, especially for fans of Nels Cline. Here at the Vinyl Underground we like to call it the new Nels Cline album as his influence is more prevalent on this release than any of his others with Wilco. Of course we carry the indie only white vinyl version.

#1– Nathaniel Rateliff- Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats

Nathaniel Rateliff has exploded after trudging through the touring trenches. We have been trying our hardest to keep this one in stock and it still is in limited supplies. With TWO big upcoming shows this one will continue to sell at Kansas City’s best record store, The Vinyl Underground at 7th Heaven.

Stop in today and pick up YOUR copy of any of these Best Sellers or any of the other of 100’s of new vinyl titles currently in stock. We are open until 9 pm.
