“It pays to have an app on your phone like SoundHound, so that when you hear a song you’re not familiar with – but love- playing overhead at an eating establishment, you can find out who and what you’re listening to and investigate further. The song was “One”. The band was Moving Panoramas. The album came out in 2015. I had never heard of them. Album ordered. Gamble. Payoff!
This female trio from Austin, Texas have crafted an ethereal musical portrait stitched together with echo-drenched guitar, melancholy lyrics, and haunting melodies that won’t leave you alone. And the clever “one” word song titles just add to the mystique of this album. “Radar”, the second track has become my favorite song – a crooning love song that has a very catchy chorus. There’s a darkness throughout the album that is mirrored in the artwork, yet down-tempo never sounded so good. Get this ONE!!!”
