Double vinyl LP pressing housed in gatefold jacket. Aaliyah is the self-titled third and final studio album by the “Queen of Urban Pop,” Aaliyah. Originally released in 2001 by Blackground Records, the album debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Cited by critics as one of the best R&B records of it’s time, the album is a reflection of herself as both a young adult and matured vocalist. Standout tracks include “We Need A Resolution,” “More Than A Woman,” and “Rock The Boat.”

Everybody Can’t Go is the perfect fuse of gritty, street lyricism and sharp storytelling. On his Def Jam debut – produced by Hit Boy and The Alchemist – Buffalo, New York’s Benny the Butcher is determined to prove that he is a respected artist, combining his signature street sensibility with traditional hip hop flair. Blue Mitchell – Down With It! (Blue Note Tone Poet Series)
Miami-born trumpeter Blue Mitchell had a soulful, swinging style that was equally at home in jazz, R&B, and funk settings. Mitchell been a sideman on Blue Note sessions led by Lou Donaldson, Jimmy Smith, Jackie McLean and appeared on numerous classics as a member of the Horace Silver Quintet before he began recording his own Blue Note leader albums. For his 1965 date Down With It! The trumpeter reconvened the same dynamic quintet that had recorded his label debut The Thing To Do the year before including his Silver bandmates Junior Cook on tenor saxophone and Gene Taylor on bass along with a 24-year-old Chick Corea on piano and 22-year-old Al Foster on drums. The band comes flying out of the gate on the boogaloo grooved opener “Hi-Heel Sneakers” with other highlights of the set including the high-spirited “March On Selma” and the gorgeous ballad “Alone, Alone, Alone.”

J Mascis – What Do We Do Now (Clear Purple Colored Vinyl)
What Do We Do Now is the fifth solo studio LP recorded by J Mascis since 1996. Using his own Bisquiteen Studio in the waning days of the pandemic, J started working on writing a series of tunes on acoustic with a different dynamic than the stuff he creates for Dino. “When I’m writing for the band,” he says, “I’m always trying to think of doing things Lou and Murph would fit into. Usually, I try to do the solo stuff more simply so I can play it by myself, but I really wanted to add the drums. Once that started, everything else just fell into place. So it ended up sounding a lot more like a band record.” Western Mass local Ken Mauri (of the B52s) plays piano on several tracks, while Toronto musician Matthew “Doc” Dunn’s steel guitar manages to both widen and soften the musical edges of the music, giving it a full classicist profile. What Do We Do Now is the finest set of solo tunes J has yet penned, and the way they’re presented is just about perfect.

Kate Bush & Fish people records are proud and excited to announce new pressings of all 10 of Kate Bush’s albums “It’s very exciting to see people appreciating the physical presence of an album released on vinyl. It’s how it’s always been for me, especially when I was a teenager. The whole buzz of the record store was part of the experience. Buying an album was an event. ” Kate Bush. The records are all pressed on 180gm vinyl at the world-renowned Record Industry plant in the Netherlands. New lacquers were cut from the 2018 remasters by Bernie Grundman and overseen by mastering engineer James Guthrie. All designed by Kate and feature new Fish People label designs, stunning vinyl combinations and obi strips with pressing date. They are protected in resealable poly-bag liners with a ‘Fish People Reissue’ sticker, bottom right. Kate’s debut album “The Kick Inside” was released on 17 February 1978 and contains the UK number one hit, “Wuthering Heights”. The album peaked at number three in the UK album charts and has been certified Platinum by the British Phonographic Industry. The production included contributions from Duncan Mackay, Ian Bairnson, David Paton, Andrew Powell, Stuart Elliott and David Gilmour.
